Venezuela's leading chocolate company have built their reputation
on the principle of uncompromising quality, using single origin
Carenero Superior cocoa beans.

The El Rey company is one of Venezuela’s leading chocolate manufacturers with a reputation of uncompromising quality. Their chocolate is made in the country of origin not far from where their cocoa beans are grown. These excellent quality cocoa beans are grown on small plantations that have been owned for generations by the same Andean families.

El Rey chocolate is made using some of Venezuela’s finest carenero superior cocoa beans and the 41% cocoa solid milk chocolate bar know as the Caoba was a worthy winner of a Gold Great Taste Award. This bar of chocolate is the epitome of a classic good quality milk chocolate- not overpoweringly sweet, with a distinct strong chocolate flavour that develops during the time it rests on the tongue, subsiding into a very pleasant mellowness.

This is one of those chocolate bars that once experienced leave the happy eater ‘hooked for life’.

As part of their chocolate bar range El Rey also produce a superb white chocolate bar named Icoa after an ancient South American goddess Icoa-Uru whose followers believed she had a white soul. This chocolate is made from pure pressed cocoa butter, it has a silky smooth texture and is flavoured with natural vanilla.

The 73.5% cocoa solid bar of Apamate is much loved by those starred chefs who are in the know. It is powerful but not bitter and is made in the conventional way but nearing the end of the process extra coca butter is added to create the silky, shiny, dark bars of chocolate.
